Culture in Sheffield

Sheffield is packed full of museums, galleries and theatres for an insightful day out, or an evening catching a show. We have highlighted some of our favourites below, but there is always more to be discovered in the city. 

Millenium Galleries

Located next to the beautiful Winter Gardens in the city centre, the Millenium Gallery hosts many different exhibitions all year round and even hosted some of Leonardo Da Vinci's work back in 2019. Entry is free and a great visit for people of all ages. 

Sheffield Theatres

Tudor Square is the home of the Sheffield Theatres, the Crucible theatre, home of the annual world snooker championships and the Lyceum Theatre showing shows all year round. You will be sure to find live performances you will love.

National Emergency Services Museum

The world’s largest combined Emergency Services Museum is located in one of Yorkshire's first purpose-built combined Police, Fire and Ambulance Stations, dating back to 1898. Showcasing over 40 vehicles across three floors of exhibits.

The National Videogame Museum

The largest shopping centre in Yorkshire, Meadowhall is full of well-known shopping brands, to give you your retail therapy fix. Located 3 miles out of the city centre, you can get access to Meadowhall via train, tram, bus or car, with their large car park around the building.
